Why are some images “currently not available” on the site?

All reproduced images on the website are displayed with permission from the publisher. When the permission to redistribute an image expires, or when permission requests are still under review by the publisher, we automatically display a placeholder for the figure or image until the publisher grants permission. This placeholder is the “currently not available” graphic that you may see on the site.

Top of Page

When will images that are “currently not available” be available?

We are unable to provide exact time frames, as this is dependent upon a  publisher’s permissions process. The actual image will replace the placeholder after we receive permission from the publisher.

Why am I being asked to select a product view before entering a tab, performing a search, or accessing the bibliography?

MEDVERSATION® has "product views" that customize content to be relevant to the product you have selected. All content within the four main tabs of the site, as well as consumer-friendly content, requires a product view to be selected prior to viewing. In addition, performing a site search or accessing the bibliography also requires a product view to be selected.

Once you select a product view you will be taken to a unique MEDVERSATION® home page for that product, where you can access product-specific announcements and a list of content that has recently changed (What's New). From product home pages you can navigate anywhere else within the site and return to the page by clicking the Selected Product Home link to the left of the 4 main tabs. Your product view can also be changed by clicking the Change Product View button.

What are "Announcements", and where do they appear?

Announcements communicate a wide variety of information, including breaking news regarding product safety issues, new topics or web features, and routine website maintenance. Up to 5 of the most recent announcements appear within the "Announcements" section on the home page and on product home pages (for product-specific announcements). By clicking on the home page "Announcements" header, a reader can view an archive of announcements that were posted in the past.

Additionally, site users may opt-in to receive e-mail messages when new items meeting their preferences are added to the "Announcements" section. To opt-in to (or opt-out of) the e-mail notification capability, please log in and visit the "MEDVERSATION® EMAIL NOTIFICATION PREFERENCES" section of "My Preferences" to make selections.

General Questions

What is MEDVERSATION®?

The MEDVERSATION® web application has been designed and developed to help improve the quality of important conversations between health care professionals and patients. We believe these conversations are an important part of managing any disease. The information in the site is organized into four dimensions that we believe are necessary to have informed conversations about any disease: the natural progression of disease, the potential benefits of treatments, the potential risks of treatments, and an understanding of how each of these dimensions should be analyzed in context with the others. We have done this because we want all patients to get treatment when it is right for them, regardless of whether or not the treatment is ours.

The MEDVERSATION® web application contains information about potential benefits of treatments, potential risks of treatments, and natural history of diseases for which Centocor Ortho Biotech Inc. markets FDA-approved therapies. Additionally, MEDVERSATION® contains a Benefit:Risk Analysis section, designed to help physicians evaluate benefit and risk information.

Further, the MEDVERSATION® web application provides tools to help manage the information, such as emailing portions of the content to others, storing information for later retrieval, and full content searching.

We hope you find MEDVERSATION® a useful tool in your clinical practice.

What do the different dates on the site mean?

There are three types of dates you will encounter on MEDVERSATION®.

Footer Dates: The date in the footer of every page that reads "Last Complete Site Update On:" denotes the last time that anything on the site was changed or updated. This includes any content changes or additions, an announcement being added to the site, or site feature updates.

Announcement/What’s New Dates: The date associated with Announcements and What’s New items denotes the date on which that item was either added to the site or modified.

Content Dates: There are two dates on each page of content. "Content on this page was last reviewed on" denotes the last time that an author reviewed the material for revision. "Content on this page was last changed on" denotes the last time that any changes to the content were published. Note that this is new functionality as of May 2009, so initially all of these dates will be May 2009 and will reflect the date this new functionality became available (not the actual last date of change). After this initialization, as content is revised, the dates will be managed as stated above.
